Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has challenged Donald Trump to turn his anger at Vladimir Putin into action by “forcing Russia into peace.”
His remarks came after Mr Trump admitted he was “p***ed off” with the Russian leader, who had questioned Mr Zelensky’s legitimacy and hinted at the need for new Ukrainian leadership.
In a post on X, Mr Zelensky accused Russia of dragging out the war with “fake conditions” and urged world leaders, including the US, to take a firmer stance.
He warned that Putin was playing the same game he had since 2014—stalling negotiations to strengthen his position before making further land grabs.
He said: “A strong response is needed — from the US, from Europe, from everyone in the world who has placed their bets on diplomacy. Russia must be forced into peace — only pressure will work.”
