A shooting in Birmingham has left two men injured. Police confirmed gunshots were heard in Bickford Road off Electric Avenue in Witton this morning.
West Midlands Police said the injuries sustained are not thought to be life threatening. However, the force added that a lot of people were thought to be in the area at the time of the shooting.
Cops appealed for CCTV for anyone who was on Bickford Road, Tame Road, Dulverton Road, Electric Avenue, Westwood Road, Brantley Road and Deykin Avenue from 11pm on Saturday, March 22, to 7am on Sunday.
Police also said they will have a presence in the area on Sunday as officers investigate the incident.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We are investigating after shots were fired in Birmingham this morning.
“We were called to Bickford Road, Aston after gunshots were heard shortly before 6am. Two men were taken to hospital, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. We will have officers in the area throughout today carrying out further enquiries.
“We know there were a lot of people in the area when the shooting happened and we are asking anyone with photos or video to contact us. Officers investigating have created a public link where you can directly submit any material you have.”
It went on: “Anyone with any other information about what happened can contact us via 101 or Live Chat quoting log 636 of 23 March.
“Firearms have no place on the streets of the West Midlands, and we are continuing our work daily against those who carry them.”
